For over 20 years, Missouri University of Science and Technology’s Applied Language Institute (ALI) has developed permanent, ongoing language programs for S&T's international community through the Intensive English Program (IEP). The mission of the IEP is to assist international students in attaining the proficiency level needed to meet language standards and promote a successful transition to academic programs.

Cultural Programs

Our international students are invited to participate in the following: Conversation PartnersInternational Student Advisory CouncilInternational Education Week, and many others. For more than 6 years in a row, our signature event,  Celebration of Nations, attracts more than 3,000 participants every September. 

CEA Accredited

The Intensive English Program at the Missouri University of Science and Technology is accredited by the Commission on English Language Program Accreditation for the period April 2016 through April 2020 and agrees to uphold the CEA Standards for English Language Programs and Institutions. CEA is recognized by the U.S. Secretary of Education as a nationally recognized accrediting agency for English language programs and institutions in the U.S. For further information about this accreditation, please contact CEA, 1001 N.
