English Language Proficiency Testing

FOR DEGREE-SEEKING STUDENTS

English language proficiency testing is mandatory for all international students who have not satisfied Missouri S&T's English language proficiency requirements. To review the English language proficiency requirements, check the admission requirements for international students.   

Components of Language Proficiency Testing

Missouri S&T’s language proficiency testing and results are determined by four tests:

  • Michigan Test of Language Proficiency
  • Test of Writing Proficiency
  • Test of Listening Proficiency
  • Oral Proficiency Evaluation
Recommendations for Study

Depending on their test scores, students may receive one of the following recommendations:

  • Full-time study at Missouri S&T
  • Pathway program (Missouri S&T and IEP classes)
  • Full-time study in the IEP
PROGRAM FEES:
  • The fee for English language proficiency test is $195.
